General Atomics We have an exciting opportunity for a Cable Technician to join our team located in San Diego, California. Job Summary
General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures electromagnetic and electric power generation systems supporting fleet, space, missile defense, power, energy, and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Repair wiring assemblies and soldering fine pitch components to meet IPC610 class 3 requirements. Build various cables that meet IPC620 Class 3 requirements. Follow methods and sequences of operations for wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing. Interpret assembly drawings and written instructions. Obtain measurements using tools like measuring tapes, calipers, etc. Crimp terminals/contacts onto wires using manual and automated tools. Label assemblies per drawing specifications. Soldering and tinning wire, splices, and connections. Perform complex repetitive tasks for electronic/mechanical assembly preparation. Use basic hand tools such as cutters, wire strippers, crimpers, soldering iron, heat gun. Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to grow. Certification in IPC610, IPC620, J-standard is a plus; experience in material potting, fiber optic, and RF cables is desirable. Assemble, disassemble, modify assemblies per specifications. Perform 5S housekeeping and cleanup duties. Work overtime and Saturdays as needed. Observe all applicable laws and safety procedures. Job Qualifications
Typically requires an associate's degree or equivalent with five+ years of experience; military or technical school experience desirable. Ability to work with hand tools and operate lab equipment. Capable of performing complex tasks independently. Willing to work with systems involving high pressure, voltage, energy, cryogens, or radioactive materials. Knowledge of computer operations relevant to the field. Job type: Full-Time Hourly Salary range: $60,670 - $90,198 Additional Information
