University of New Mexico’s College of Education and Human Sciences, Department of Special Education, invites applications for an Assistant Professor Tenure-Track Faculty position in Special Education, with experience and expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Responsibilities
Provide direct supervision to students completing their ABA Field Experience/Practicum. Teach courses in ABA and related areas. Conduct scholarly work related to ABA in the Special Education Department. Contribute to the coordination of supervised fieldwork in the behavior analysis program, commensurate with background and expertise. Advise students and serve on capstone and dissertation committees. Contribute to teaching, research, and service that support the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico. A complete application will include

Minimum Qualifications: Terminal degree in Special Education or a closely related field by August 2026. Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or BCBA-D. Preferred Qualifications: Robust and current preparation in (a) ABA principles, strategies, and ethical practice; (b) special education and/or working with individuals with disabilities. Excellence or potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in behavior analysis. Extensive experience in behavior analytic work in school, community, and/or clinical settings with individuals with disabilities, including experience with a wide range of behavioral support needs. Prior experience supervising students in ABA Field Experience/Practicum placements or related experiences. Formal preparation and current involvement in research to establish an active research agenda in ABA. Prior experience working in an accredited university ABA training program. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to cultivating an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the university mission to serve local and global communities. Application Instructions
