Responsibilities
Provide direct supervision to students completing their ABA Field Experience/Practicum.
Teach courses in ABA and related areas.
Conduct scholarly work related to ABA in the Special Education Department.
Coordinate supervised fieldwork in the behavior analysis program.
Advise students and serve on capstone and dissertation committees.
Contribute to teaching, research, and service that reflects the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Terminal degree in Special Education or a closely related field by August 2026.
Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or BCBA-D.
Preferred Qualifications:
Robust and current preparation in ABA principles, strategies, and ethical practice; and in special education and/or working with individuals with disabilities.
Excellence or potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in behavior analysis.
Extensive experience in behavior analytic work in school, community, and/or clinical settings with individuals with disabilities, including diverse behavioral support needs.
Experience supervising students in ABA Field Experience/Practicum placements or related experiences.
Active involvement in research with the ability to establish an agenda in applied behavior analysis.
Experience in an accredited university ABA training program.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to cultivating an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
