The successful individual will work under direct supervision to maintain the cleanliness within the healthcare facility in support of the organization’s health standards. The Environmental Services Technician will assume the responsibility of cleaning and maintaining a well-groomed appearance throughout the facility. The role will also include other activities such as management of linens and inventory distribution, stocking, and collection. The Environmental Services Technician is expected to demonstrate professionalism during contact with patients while performing job responsibilities. Responsibilities
Tasked with undertaking the 10 Step cleaning process Dusts, dry mops and cleans items such as medicine cabinets, furniture, metals, mirrors and equipment Vacuum blinds, screens and vents Perform miscellaneous duties such as replenishing supplies Sterilize rooms after isolation Cleans and services rooms and offices Cleans and mops floors Damp dusts furniture and equipment Washes inside windows Empties waste baskets Arranges rooms in an orderly fashion Cleans bathrooms, sinks, mirrors, supplies soap, towels and tissues Cleans patient check-out beds and changes curtains as needed Performs a variety of related duties Cleans and services buildings Dust mops, wet mops, buffs floors, halls, rooms, stairways and cleans carpets Periodically waxes floors; damp dusts furniture and equipment Gathers and disposes of trash Cleans high areas; moves furniture and equipment in the hospital as required Utilize the bed tracking system to perform “Discharge cleaning” as needed Transports waste from collection points to compactors Set up meeting rooms and move furniture as required Maintains and operates all cleaning equipment both electrical and battery; request repairs as needed Wash walls and ceilings as assigned Performs special projects such as hanging drapes and cubicle curtains Reports any deficiencies observed in equipment, furniture or fixtures Performs related duties as assigned Qualifications
High School diploma or GED Previous experience in healthcare, housekeeping, and/or maintenance will be added advantages Able to demonstrate, after training, skill, and capacity to use cleaning equipment Possess skills and knowledge of proper use of chemicals and equipment in cleaning, stripping and refinishing floors and in shampooing carpeting, and upholstery Knowledge of the 10 step cleaning process and isolation cleaning of a patient room, cycle clean OR and L&D suites, and terminal clean areas as needed Capacity to stand, walk, stoop, and move reasonable weight while performing duties Possess good interpersonal skills and is physically presentable Shifts
7am - 3pm 3pm - 11pm 11pm - 7am Full Time or Part Time or weekends only Benefits
