The Department of Physics at Binghamton invites applications for a tenure-track position as Simons Empire Faculty Fellow to begin in Fall 2026 at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek an outstanding candidate with expertise in experimental light-matter interactions and nonlinear optics/photonics, with an emphasis on ultrafast dynamics of quantum materials and/or quantum optics, sensing, and communications. Successful candidates are expected to have an outstanding research record, establish an independent research program, and contribute to the Physics undergraduate and graduate teaching programs. This position is part of a four-faculty Simons Empire Faculty Fellowship cluster hire at Binghamton University, comprising two experimental physics positions and two mathematics positions. The cluster is designed to foster collaborative research at the intersection of quantum science and the mathematical foundations of artificial intelligence, with opportunities for interdisciplinary engagement.
