Job Description The Fixed Income Sophomore Summer Analyst Program at Morgan Stanley is a 10-week program designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fixed income market and the firm’s business. The program includes classroom training and rotations across various fixed income areas, such as:

Responsibilities:

Sales:

Building and maintaining client relationships, creating investment ideas, selling and cross-selling the firm’s products, and representing the firm in client interactions on key business issues.

Trading:

Generating trade ideas, supporting market-making and trade execution, and providing research analytics on trades and relative value analysis.

Strategy:

Developing investment recommendations on fixed income securities through market fundamentals and technical research.

Structuring:

Building valuation models to help optimize transactions and assess sources of value and risk.

Training Program: The program starts with a one-day orientation introducing new hires to the firm’s businesses and culture, followed by division-specific training on core skills for fixed income sales and trading, including daily market updates and technical training.

Qualifications: Applicants must:

Be currently pursuing an undergraduate degree (sophomore) with a graduation date of December 2026 or Spring 2027

Have a minimum 3.0 GPA

Have a strong interest in finance and markets

Possess analytical and adaptive skills

Demonstrate a strong work ethic, leadership, and teamwork abilities

Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills

Compensation: The base pay rate is approximately $36.06 per hour, with total compensation potentially including bonuses, incentives, and benefits, determined on an individual basis.
