Overview The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for the timely preparation of the Company’s external financial reports in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements. This role includes handling complex areas of the accounting close, such as ASC 842 lease accounting and consolidations, and assisting with assessment of new accounting standards and complex transactions. The position also supports the preparation and update of accounting policies, provides supporting documentation to external auditors, and collaborates with other departments. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong organization, time management, and communication skills, capable of working independently and identifying process improvements to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
Prepare the Company’s SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, and earnings releases), including supporting documentation for all filings
Prepare quarterly financial statements, including cash flow worksheets and other supporting schedules
Act as primary liaison with other departments to obtain required supporting documentation and information to complete financial statements and SEC filings
Prepare the monthly consolidation of financial results
Prepare and maintain ASC 842 lease accounting schedules within the lease administration system based on lease contracts and amendments; understand asset and liability positions with detailed reconciliations to the general ledger
Prepare and analyze assigned journal entries and account reconciliations for the monthly close; complete ad hoc projects as needed
Coordinate and review XBRL for all 10-Q and 10-K filings
Assist with researching, documenting, and implementing conclusions on technical accounting treatments for non-routine transactions and new pronouncements
Assist in technical accounting areas including revenue recognition, debt modification, impairment, and lease accounting; update policies and procedures
Assist with external auditor requests, including preparation of requested schedules
Identify opportunities to streamline quarterly reporting and leverage the ERP system to automate reports and lead schedules
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
4+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role; public accounting experience required
CPA or current CPA candidate
Experience with SEC reporting
Excellent knowledge of US GAAP, technical accounting matters, and SEC regulations
Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting and review of lease documents is a plus
Self-motivated, detail-oriented with strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
Flexible/adaptable to shifting priorities and deadlines
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Experience with Workday Financials or similar ERP a plus
Experience with ActiveDisclosure or similar reporting platform a plus
