Financial Information/Analytical Review - Insure that Financial statements, general ledgers, journal entries, supporting workpapers and management are managed in a correct and timely manner. Monthly financial statements are prepared in accordance with the Monthly Financial Statement Closing Schedule. Financial Statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Controller is kept informed of significant financial reporting issues. Play an integral role in the recordation of significant exposure areas (i.e. Worker's Comp., Group Health, Payroll Liab., etc.). Review analysis and keep supervisors informed regarding monthly bookings. Review detailed balance sheet analysis and operations analysis prepared by Accountants. Provide review comments as appropriate. Technical - Maintains an adequate level of technical competence. General accounting principles are applied consistently; ongoing knowledge of major changes in the healthcare environment. Active participation in continuing professional education programs. Good working knowledge of PC applications and using the computer when appropriate. Communication (Verbal and Nonverbal) - Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills. Ideas are clearly and concisely presented in a professional manner; communication styles adapt to environments; supports department goals and objectives. Follow-up with staff to ensure timely completion of projects. Supervisory - Supervises and motivates staff by developing skills, directing efforts, and evaluating performance. Responsible for staff reporting and timely reviews and evaluations. Reviews the work of staff and communicates performance to supervisor. Team work - Works well with other members of the financial team; supports colleagues and participates in team activities. Planning - Directs operational plans, resource allocation, and department policies consistent with the organization's mission; participates in strategic planning and budget-related activities. Selects contract services as appropriate. Directing Services - Assists the Controller in organizing department services and personnel decisions; motivates staff to implement plans. Performs staff onboarding and orientation for new department members; ensures competency and qualification assessment for staff and contractors. Implementing and Coordinating Services - Performs staff duties during peak workload periods; achieves annual goals and objectives. Fiscal Responsibility - Collaborates on department budget; monitors expenses to remain within budget; ensures timely budget completion. Improving Services (Quality Improvement) - Establishes expectations and plans, measures and implements improvements; submits required monthly reports to Quality Improvement Director by deadline. Professional Conduct - Demonstrates willingness to perform additional duties; follows hospital and department policies; maintains confidentiality; communicates effectively; participates in meetings and supports a positive work environment. Guest/Interdepartmental Relations - Maintains professional interactions with management, patients, families, medical staff, visitors and co-workers; demonstrates positive guest relations and phone protocol. Professional Growth and Development - Completes required safety updates and orientations; attends in-service programs and maintains relevant certifications. Performance Improvement - Proactively identifies and suggests improvements, manages costs, and strives to meet patient/customer needs while maximizing departmental efficiency. Qualifications

Strong foundation in general accounting principles with healthcare industry awareness. Commitment to ongoing professional education and staying current with healthcare changes. Proficiency with PC applications and accounting software. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a financial team. Job Details
