boutique law firm in Buckhead
is seeking a
Controller
to lead and oversee the firm’s financial operations. This role is central to ensuring accurate financial management, compliance, and strategic guidance that supports the firm’s continued growth and success. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with experience in
law firm accounting procedures . A CPA designation is not required, but strong knowledge of professional services financial practices is essential. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage financial plans, budgets, and forecasts; prepare monthly financial reports for firm leadership.
Oversee the
month-end close process , including review of attorney and paralegal billing entries and preparation of reporting for Equity Partners.
Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll—including timely payroll processing and 401K reconciliation.
Monitor and manage
cash flow , including banking relationships, daily transactions, deposits, ACH/wire transfers, and monthly reconciliations.
Collaborate with the firm’s CPA on year-end financial statements, reconciliations, tax returns, and partners’ K-1s.
Establish, monitor, and enforce
internal controls
to ensure financial accuracy and safeguard firm assets.
Partner with firm leadership to align financial practices with strategic goals; recommend and implement technology solutions to improve efficiency.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other relevant requirements.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree
in Accounting or Finance.
10+ years of accounting/finance experience , ideally in a
law firm or professional services environment .
Strong technical skills in accounting principles, financial reporting, and relevant systems (e.g., Orion, Excel).
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities; able to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
Compensation: $100,000-$140,000 per year
