As we expand our operations, we are seeking a dynamic Controller to lead our financial operations and contribute to the strategic direction of the firm. DMG Worldwide is an accounting firm that specializes in helping Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs with their Accounting and cash flow management needs. DMG provides accounting and tax, tax resolution, outsourced CFO, and advisory services. Responsibilities
Financial Leadership: Oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management. Lead monthly and quarterly financial close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews. Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll coordination, and general ledger integrity. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement the firm’s financial strategy and long-term business plans. Implement budget, forecasting, and cash flow tracking processes. Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Oversee internal controls, process improvements, and accounting policies. Manage outside audits or reviews, liaising with external accountants. Collaborate with tax and advisory teams to ensure integrated client service. Team Management: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and professional development. Train and mentor junior accounting staff and associates. Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, including partners and board members, highlighting key performance indicators and financial insights. Prepare financial statements (GAAP), management reporting, and variance analysis. Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Oversee internal controls, process improvements, and accounting policies. Risk Management: Assess and manage financial risks, implementing appropriate controls to safeguard the firm’s assets. Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role, preferably as a Controller or CFO in a CPA or professional services firm. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations. Proficiency in financial management software and reporting tools. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. High level of integrity and professionalism. Strong leadership, technology, analytical, and communication skills. Proven experience as an accounting supervisor or manager. Exceptional organization and time-management skills.
