The Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for working with and supporting members from all areas and levels of the organization to ensure the Firm’s financial systems are working properly and to assist in facilitating change through systems and process improvements. The Financial Systems Analyst will work within a team to support Finance technology solutions and initiatives and will report to the Senior Financial Systems Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Provide end-user systems support and assistance to the Finance staff. Work on project teams to assist in the technical design, coding, testing, and implementation of new reports/software, along with modifications to existing reports/software. Financial system(s) security set-up and maintenance (both front-office and back-office). Monitor regular system maintenance functions. Assist in the coordination of system upgrades and maintenance with IT and vendor. Support and assist the Financial Systems Manager in the implementation and upgrade of new and existing finance systems; including, but not limited to: Identification of missing/needed functionality. Identification of reporting needs. Validation of the integrity of test conversions and final conversion data. Implementation of training labs, including training the lab facilitators, developing lab materials. Ensuring connectivity between finance system and ancillary systems. Development and implementation of end user training which includes both Finance and non-Finance personnel. Provide support for users of the finance applications within the firm. Work with members of other teams, primarily within the IT organization, to resolve technical problems that may arise. Support systems to advance Finance’s goals and objectives. Create training documentation for both Finance and end users and conduct internal Finance training sessions as needed. Act as the primary contact within the Finance function to resolve application software problems with 3rd party vendors, consultants, or K&S IT staff. Prepare, or assist in the preparation, of recurring and special management reports. Work with the IT function to provide timely support to the Firm. Develop test plans and lead user acceptance testing sessions. Work directly with IT to assess data integrity issues across applications. Evaluate recurring data requests for possible creation of reports with end-user execution. Work with various groups and levels in the organization to define their financial reporting requirements to advance the Firm’s electronic distribution of reports/data. Help create detailed specifications for custom reports, inquiries, and system modifications. Assist in the documentation of requirements and design of custom reports, inquiries, and forms for financial systems. Manage the testing of said reports, forms, and inquiries. Assist in the development of process flow documentation. Assist in designing improved business processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required – MIS, Accounting, or Finance preferred 2 – 3 years of experience in a law firm or corporate environment is preferred Minimum two years' experience with relational databases, data validation, and report writing - SQL, Power BI, Business Objects is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office Effective verbal and written communication skills Strong relationship management and listening skills Ability to manage stressful situations and mitigate/resolve conflict Organized, creative, goal oriented and willing to take ownership of responsibilities and requests Strong problem solving and analytic skills to research and provide solutions Strong team builder, an effective motivator with an attention to detail Strong time management skills Ability to work independently and without supervision
