This position reports to the Corebridge Director of Expense Operations and Accounting Support who reports to the Corebridge Financial Controller. The role provides technical expertise and guidance related to general operating expenses (GOE), including GOE GAAP & Statutory reporting, fixed assets and lease accounting. There is significant interaction with functional areas such as Financial Planning and Analysis, Real Estate, Legal, Treasury, External Reporting, Employee Relations, and Office of Accounting Policy. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal communications and be able to interact at senior levels within the finance organization. Strong analytical and critical thinking are essential. Responsibilities
Provide coverage on quarter and year-end financial audit items related to general operating expenses. Perform various general ledger month-end close activities; ensure GOE transactions are properly recorded and that accruals and accounting are in accordance with US GAAP and Statutory guidelines. Partner with the Finance transformation team, Financial Planning & Analysis and Controllers teams to provide high-level analytics and trend analysis related to GOE. Support implementation of process enhancements to monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and analytics processes. Gain a strong understanding of lease and home office related accounting in partnership with CBRE and take the lead on fixed asset accounting to support and provide guidance to our Accenture partners when needed. Participate in initiatives to drive GOE controllership process improvements and transformation. Qualifications
3+ years of accounting experience, with analysis experience preferred Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting preferred) CPA or other accounting designation a plus Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and the analysis and reporting of financial data Ability to work independently and under pressure Experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders Experience working with a remote team a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Prior knowledge of SAP software preferred Ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changing business needs and priorities Team player with good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn Compensation
