Job Title:
Accounting Manager – Grants & Contracts Base pay range
$70.00/yr - $78.00/yr Position Summary
The Accounting Manager for Grants and Contracts oversees all post-award grant accounting functions. This includes ensuring compliance with grant requirements, preparing financial reports, managing reimbursements, monitoring budgets, and supporting audits. The role requires leadership in both strategic and day-to-day grant financial management and close collaboration with the Assistant Controller and VP of Finance. Key Responsibilities
Supervise grant accounting staff and manage daily operations. Ensure compliance with grant terms, federal/state regulations, and internal policies. Oversee grant budgets, track spending, and submit timely reimbursement requests. Maintain complete and accurate grant documentation. Prepare journal entries, monthly closes, and audit schedules. Support the SEFA and annual audit processes. Respond to internal inquiries regarding grant usage and allocations. Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures. Contribute to financial reporting and process improvement initiatives. Provide training, cross-training, and performance oversight for the team. Set and monitor KPIs aligned with departmental and organizational goals. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s in Accounting preferred or equivalent experience. Experience:
5–7+ years of full-cycle accounting, including grants management. Nonprofit experience strongly preferred. Skills:
Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Knowledge of OMB Uniform Guidance and grant compliance Leadership and team supervision experience Senioriy level
