(STCP) is a value-oriented, active asset manager focused primarily on alternative credit, including broadly-syndicated leveraged loans, high yield bonds, and structured credit investing. The Associate will have responsibilities in three primary areas: fund operations, fund accounting, and management company accounting. Fund Operations:
Review reconciliation of cash balances, investment positions, and market values Examine trade activity and monitor trade settlement Confirm validity of corporate actions and significant price changes with independent sources Interact with investment managers and fund custodians to resolve questions and reconcile differences Liaise with auditors and tax preparers for Sycamore Tree funds Review NAV calculations from the fund administrator Calculate fund and investment performance Generate recurring and ad hoc fund reports Review fees, accruals, and expense items Management Company Accounting:
Review and process invoices Track, calculate, and document the allocation of expenses to funds Calculate and analyze monthly and quarterly firm financial performance Education, Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance 2-5 years of relevant experience in Audit, Tax, or Fund Administration Current or previous experience with the day-to-day operational management of credit funds preferred CPA (or working towards one) or Master’s degree in accounting is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Attention to detail and a strong desire for accuracy Highly organized Strong work ethic with a proactive approach Intellectually curious with a strong desire to learn and grow Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment and add value beyond designated role/responsibilities Sycamore Tree offers a competitive base salary plus a discretionary bonus based on performance, encouraging alignment of interests among the firm’s investors.
