The Commercial Lender is responsible for identifying and developing potential commercial lending opportunities through referrals, prospecting, networking and maintaining relationships with professional centers of influence; analyzing borrowers' financial data to access credit worthiness; and working in coordination with other departments including servicing and loan administration as appropriate.
In addition to establishing a strong credit portfolio, the Commercial Lender will also work with the retail banking team to effectively cross-sell the bank’s full range of products including deposit accounts, mortgages and consumer loans.
Essential Duties
General Responsibilities:
Generates, sells and services commercial accounts to ensure profitability and seeks to expand customer base through new accounts.
Conducts business calls to solicit, sell, and cross sell bank products/services to prospects/existing customers.
Gathers account information and analyzes risk and profitability for the bank.
Work with loan assistants for timely processing of executed documents, letters, reports, etc.
Ensure credit review and risk rating practices are continuous, complete and accurate
Monitors loan portfolio of existing customers and manages account performance and compliance with loan agreement and bank policies/procedures.
Minimizes and controls collateral and documentation exceptions.
Facilitate prompt, courteous and satisfactory problem resolution.
Represents bank by involvement in community and civic activities.
Performs other duties as required.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting
5+ years of experience, loan production in commercial and real estate lending, loan portfolio administration and product sales
CRE experience required
Strong Community leadership experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high production environment
Preferred Education and Experience
College degree or equivalent preferred, with 2 to 3 years of experience
Commercial Lending experience preferred
