Description Position Summary: The Commercial Lender is responsible for developing, managing, and growing a portfolio of commercial loans and deposit relationships within the community. This role involves building strong relationships with local business owners, assessing creditworthiness, structuring loan requests, and ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. The Commercial Lender plays a key role in supporting the bank’s growth strategy while maintaining the community bank’s commitment to personalized service and local decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage a portfolio of commercial lending relationships, including small businesses, commercial real estate, and other business borrowers. Proactively identify, solicit, and develop new business opportunities through networking, community involvement, and referrals. Conduct financial analysis and underwriting of loan requests, including reviewing financial statements, cash flow, and collateral. Structure loan terms that meet both the borrower’s needs and the bank’s risk management standards. Prepare credit presentations and recommendations for loan committee review and approval. Monitor ongoing performance of the loan portfolio, including identifying potential problem loans and working with borrowers to resolve issues. Cross-sell additional banking products and services to strengthen customer relationships. Maintain a thorough understanding of the bank’s products, policies, and procedures, as well as federal and state banking regulations. Represent the bank in community and civic activities to enhance its visibility and reputation. All other related duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred. Minimum of 3–5 years of commercial lending, credit analysis, or banking experience. Strong knowledge of financial analysis, loan structuring, and credit underwriting. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to generate new business and maintain strong ties within the local community. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance requirements. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
