Hudson Valley Credit Union . Primary function: sales position responsible for presenting and selling specific mortgage loan programs to members and potential members that are appropriate for their individual financial circumstances. This position assists in completing the process of obtaining a mortgage loan in accordance with Credit Union and regulatory guidelines. The Mortgage Loan Officer will be responsible for developing new business opportunities through networking, such as realtor relations, meet or exceed established member service levels, loan quality and loan production goals. Responsible for coverage across our Newburgh, Arlington and Hopewell Jct. territories. Responsibilities
Develop and maintain external relationships for referral sources within the community including realtors, builders and other affinity groups. Utilize techniques such as cold-calling, letter writing and group presentations. Attend functions to build rapport within the community. Provide excellent member service by responding to and following up on customer inquiries and leads from all sources based on HVCU’s service agreement. Manage a flexible work schedule to meet with members, potential members, and networking events. Recommend Credit Union mortgage loan products that best serve members, explaining risks and benefits of loan alternatives, including options and variables involved. Maintain knowledge of the variety of mortgage loan products and services offered; attend meetings and training as required to maintain expertise. Collect and analyze member financial information to determine loan qualification (income, assets, debts, credit history, property characteristics, and other pertinent information). Follow up with members to obtain required documentation. Assist Processing/Underwriting to ensure a quality loan decision. Identify opportunities for referral to other Credit Union products and services when appropriate. Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Participate in required training including BSA. Participate in teams, projects and initiatives as opportunities arise. Perform additional duties as assigned. Support HVCU’s guiding principles, mission, vision, core values, and sales/service model. Demonstrate teamwork and professionalism. Maintain regular and predictable attendance including punctuality. Qualifications
Associate’s Degree or at least 2 years of equivalent experience; undergraduate degree cannot substitute for required experience. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) required. Valid driver’s license required. Minimum 2 years of experience in financial services required.
