Overview
Rates & Accounts Analyst position at Benesch Law in Cleveland. This hybrid role offers work-from-home flexibility and requires collaboration with the Client Value Team to manage rate exceptions, pricing arrangements, and related financial analyses. Responsibilities
Ensure integrity of client/matter setup components such as agreed rates, alternative billing arrangements, matter type, task/phase, industry and all coding structures. Review rate/fee requests during Intake and review rates/terms in engagement letters, billing guidelines and OCGs. Monitor and recommend modifications to existing rate exceptions; identify and correct coding inaccuracies; analyze timekeeper activity for OCG compliance and best practices. Perform AFA and discount analyses and recommend fee adjustments to improve financial performance. Conduct post-matter fee analyses to compare performance to initial fee arrangements; work with relationship attorneys to improve future fee arrangements. Provide reporting and support with LPM professionals, practice directors, billers, collections specialists, attorneys, and firm management on rates, coding, collection timelines, and realization. Maintain a reference library of best practices and productive approaches. Conduct market research related to rates, pricing structures, procurement, operations and industry trends. Gather and analyze data for proactive and responsive fee proposals/RFP responses. Run ad hoc data pulls for attorneys and firm teams (Marketing, Client Account Services, HR). Lead communications announcing annual rate increases and coordinate with Client Account Services to implement rate/fee adjustments during the annual window and ongoing. Communicate with attorneys and professional staff clearly and professionally. Work on special projects as requested and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Project management experience is a plus. At least 1 year of experience in project/operations management in the legal or professional services sector is highly preferred. Strong ability to work cross-functionally, meet deadlines, and interact with individuals at all levels. Broad analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and statistical data; proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and data visualization tools. Ability to distill data and analyses into clear presentations for a range of stakeholders; strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and collaborative skills.
