Job Overview Under the general direction of the Sr Risk Management Services Manager or Sr Enterprise Risk Management Manager, performs professional-level work related to designing, developing, and implementing a comprehensive risk management program. Responsibilities include administering the Airport risk compliance process regarding insurance specifications, obtaining documented evidence of insurance, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders (contractors, insurance brokers, agents, and representatives) regarding noncompliance issues and resolutions. Performs contract and vendor risk management analysis, including reviewing indemnification language, insurance requirements, certificates of insurance, and bonding requirements.

What You Will Be Doing

Perform contract and vendor risk management analysis, including reviewing indemnification language, insurance requirements, certificates of insurance, and bonding requirements.

Administer the Airport risk compliance process regarding insurance specifications, obtaining documented evidence of insurance, and communicating with stakeholders about noncompliance issues.

Manage recovery of costs for damage to Board property, coordinate claims management activities, and supervise insured claims including site visits and investigations.

Support analytics by trending incident and claims data to develop safety management training programs.

Analyze risks and loss exposures from incident and claims reports to determine appropriate risk management techniques and provide recommendations.

Manage and maintain the department’s Risk Management Information System (RMIS), including identifying system improvements.

Deliver incident reporting and claims management best practices via RMIS, including investigating circumstances, determining negligence, evaluating damages, and negotiating settlements.

Support Sr. Management with project management, including development of project plans, risk assessments, and action plan implementation.

Review and evaluate insurance coverage options, work with legal counsel on claims and litigation, develop cost projections, and assist in broker negotiations.

Support OCIP risk control programs, develop safety and claims management protocols, and monitor costs.

Prepare reports for senior management and communicate risk management policies and procedures to diverse audiences.

Facilitate and provide training on risk management programs.

Participate in emergency response and disaster recovery planning and exercises.

Support ERM projects as assigned.

What You Need

Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related field.

Five (5) years of experience in risk control and risk management.

Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted.

Valid Class C driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to analyze complex data and develop clear conclusions and recommendations.

Knowledge of insurance lines, case law, and the Texas Tort Claims Act.

Experience with litigation rules, investigations, and hearings.

Effective relationship management skills.

Ability to oversee external consultants and manage complex projects.

Knowledge of safety, environmental laws, and regulations including OSHA, RCRA, SARA, and the Clean Air Act.

Strong software skills (SharePoint, MS Project, Visio, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

What We Desire

Master’s Degree.

Professional safety or risk management certifications (CSP, CHSP, CIH, ARM, CPCU, CRM, etc.).

Subject Matter Expert in safety management, incident and claim programs, RMIS management.

Additional language skills a plus.

Special Requirements This is an essential employee position required to maintain airport operations during emergencies or inclement weather.
