Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena is located on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. The 5,000-seat arena is the home to the UMBC Retriever Men’s and Women’s basketball teams and Women’s volleyball. The multi-purpose venue is managed by OVG360 and hosts a variety of events including concerts, commencements, family shows, community events, consumer shows, featured speakers, and banquets. Responsibilities
Ticket Verification: Check and validate tickets at the entrance, ensuring each ticket is legitimate and corresponds to the event. Customer Service: Greet guests warmly, answer questions, and provide information about the event and venue as needed. Access Control: Monitor and control the entry points to ensure that only authorized guests enter the event. Crowd Management: Direct the flow of guests to prevent congestion and ensure a smooth entry process. Problem Resolution: Address any ticket-related issues or discrepancies promptly and courteously, seeking assistance from supervisors when necessary. Venue Knowledge: Stay informed about the event layout, seating arrangements, and facilities to assist guests effectively. Safety and Security: Report any suspicious activity or security concerns to the appropriate personnel immediately. Assistance: Help guests with special needs or requirements, ensuring they have a positive experience. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other event staff to ensure seamless operations and a cohesive guest experience. Maintain Order: Ensure guests follow venue rules and guidelines to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment. Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications
Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle stressful situations. Previous experience in a customer service-based industry is preferred. Previous experience within a sports, entertainment, or related field is preferred. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights and holidays required. Must be able to work in all weather conditions with proper gear including heat, cold, rain, snow.
