You will care for a wide spectrum of patients meeting criteria for Intermediate care and work alongside a dedicated team including intensivists, Advanced Practice Providers, and a multidisciplinary group focused on academic shared learning and career growth. Job Summary As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, identifying health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies. Essential Functions Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans; adjust plans to achieve outcomes. Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families; manage discomfort; maintain professionalism. Create care plans that reflect best practices and values. Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members; assess and document learning needs. Collaborate with colleagues to create and follow through on care plans; delegate and follow up appropriately. Utilize diverse problem-solving strategies; prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in care planning and delivery. Contribute to team growth and community service; acknowledge peers’ contributions. Key Success Factors Strong understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures. Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and hospital procedures. Proficiency in medical terminology and common meds with understanding of side effects. Respect for nursing ethics and patient privacy rights. Excellent communication skills; clear expression verbally and in writing. Positive interpersonal skills for teamwork with diverse individuals. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, EMR/documentation, scheduling and payroll systems, email).
