Corporate Accountant

This position is fully in-office in Lake Oswego, OR, and reports to the Accounting Manager. The Corporate Accountant will lead banking activities, manage treasury and general ledger accounting functions, compile quarterly financial statements, review financial data, and ensure financial compliance. The role works with the Accounting Manager, Controller and CFO.
Responsibilities
Serve as the main lead on banking activities including daily cash and investment reporting and balancing, funding accounts, monitoring incoming payments, positive pay exception decisions, initiating wire transfers, and monthly bank reconciliations.
Communicate cash receipts to stakeholders and apply payments.
Account for investment transactions monthly.
Manage escrow compliance with the CFO.
Manage financial accounting activities for assigned entities including overhead expense coding approval, quarterly job profit calculations, account reconciliations, cost transfers, accrual entries, and financial statement preparation.
Support the Controller and Accounting Manager with annual financial audits and project-based contract compliance audits.
Provide timely and effective follow-ups and communications with internal and external customers.
Support departmental projects and data requests as needed.
Qualifications Position Related Skills
Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams); strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, V-lookups) preferred.
Working knowledge of JD Edwards or similar ERP platform preferred.
Experience using US Bank Single Point or Clearwater Investment Management software preferred.
Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment; well organized.
Ability to work multiple tasks across departments and maintain a cooperative attitude under pressure.
Strong teamwork, self-starter mindset, flexibility, and ability to collaborate with minimal supervision.
Ability to work well in a large professional setting with professionalism and patience.
Professional Experience and Education
2–3 years of similar accounting experience required.
Working understanding of GAAP.
Experience in a construction industry accounting role is preferred.
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in accounting strongly preferred.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Combination of standing, walking, and sitting; 5% of day on stairs (as needed).
Constant use of hands/fingers for keyboard and mouse.
Vision and hearing sufficient for typical office work and communication.
Lift/carry up to 20 lbs; minimal bending, kneeling, or crawling.
Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on assignments.
Must use creativity, independent judgment, and organizational and critical thinking skills to determine best method to accomplish results.
Strong reading, writing, and spoken English; ability to interpret construction-related documentation and communicate with coworkers.
