Job Description Overview

We are looking for a Sr Accounting Manager for our client in the apparel industry to drive all key aspects of their accounting operations and play a vital role in ensuring financial accuracy and integrity. This role is responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvements in processes and controls. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, a deep understanding of financial operations in a product-driven business, and the ability to partner cross-functionally across the organization to contribute to the growth and structure of the brand’s success. Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS. Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements; ensure consistency with internal and external reporting standards. Manage Sales tax & use tax, business licenses, registration renewals, property tax and other taxes and fees Enhance and maintain strong internal controls and process improvements; ensure internal audit compliance as applicable. Serve as the accounting point of contact for cross-functional collaboration with FP&A and Operations teams. Support treasury operations including bank reconciliations and weekly, monthly and annual cash forecasting Maintain fixed asset ledgers and ensure appropriate depreciation policies are applied. Collaborate closely with the FP&A team on annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning initiatives. Provide analytical insights through regular reporting packages and variance analysis, highlighting key business trends for U.S. management. Coordinate annual insurance reporting and liaise with insurance brokers on policy updates, claims, and changes in location status. Manage transactions in SAP, including approving new suppliers, and reviewing and approving supplier payments in SAP, as well as offline ad hoc payments. Perform and oversee inter-company reconciliations Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Collaborate with other departments and external parties to ensure financial accuracy and compliance Provide any other ad hoc reporting required. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA is an asset) Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a mid-sized or high-growth environment in retail, or consumer goods. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, with experience in financial statement preparation and audit support. Experience with SAP; advanced Excel skills required. Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; capable of presenting complex information clearly. Experience with wholesale, retail, or eCommerce in fashion or retail is a major plus. Self-starter with the ability to independently build and maintain efficient reporting models and dashboards. Proven ability to lead teams through change, streamline operations, and embed a culture of operational excellence. Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills; thrives in a collaborative, high-performance environment. Highly organized, agile, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused setting. Salary: $90-100K
