Overview Plant Controller manages the manufacturing plant's accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting processes to ensure accuracy, compliance and efficiency to promote profitability. The role involves preparing financial statements, analyzing operational data, managing accounting processes, budgeting and forecasting, coordinating internal audits, and providing financial analysis and strategic advice to the CFO and owner. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts for direct reporting to CFO & owner.
Accounting Operations:
Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable management, credit card and bank reconciliations, billing, and payroll. Supervise and lead accounting and finance processes, ensuring a comprehensive and timely month-end process.
Cash Management:
Maintain and analyze 13-week cash forecast, daily sales and cash flow reports, covenant tracking, and bank relationship management. Provide analysis for strategic cash management discussions with CFO & owner.
Cost Accounting:
Develop and maintain standard costing for manufactured products, perform variance analysis, and recommend margin improvements.
Operational Analysis:
Analyze production costs, material consumption, freight & tariff costs, inventory levels, and labor productivity to identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop, monitor, and manage the company’s annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with CFO & owner.
Internal Audits & Compliance:
Coordinate internal audits, ensure financial information is organized for audits, and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations and financial laws.
Internal Controls:
Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
Experience:
Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, with significant manufacturing experience; strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting and tax compliance.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in accounting and ERP software; advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Leadership & Management:
Ability to motivate and guide team members, willingness to actively participate, with a “no job too small” attitude.
Certifications:
CPA or CMA preferred.
Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyze complex financial data and identify key trends and issues.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to Detail:
Meticulous approach to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.
Integrity:
High ethical standards for handling financial information.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to identify and resolve financial and operational issues.
Salary & Benefits
Base wage from $100,000 to $125,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Monday through Friday schedule, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
