Description
The Sr External Reporting Specialist I will be responsible for external reporting and accounting duties in accordance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements. This role involves the preparation of the financial statements and related disclosures as well as other ad hoc reporting and accounting responsibilities. Job responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities
Prepare financial statements and related disclosures for quarterly and annual financial reporting. Work cross functionally across the company to prepare and/or obtain and review support used in preparing the external financial statements and related disclosures. Assist in the completion of eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) for financial reporting. Assist in researching and documenting new accounting pronouncements and complex accounting issues, including monitoring for new and updated standards, and assessing the impacts to the company’s accounting policies, financial statements, and reporting requirements. Provide support for accounting new transactions and regulatory treatments. Assist in drafting technical accounting memos and workpapers, including documenting research and analysis on complex accounting issues in the form of technical memos and workpapers essential for audit and compliance purposes. Aid in implementing new technical and accounting standards by working across departments to ensure systems and processes are updated accordingly. Review and aid international statutory reporting/filings such as IFRS and assist with compliance with local statutory requirements in various countries. Assist in preparation of financial statement variance analyses and account reconciliations. Undertake ad hoc projects as needed.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Active U.S. CPA license or CPA-eligible preferred. Minimum five (5) years of technical accounting and/or financial reporting work experience; public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements Strong research, analytical, and communication skills; attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards and OneStream) and working in a SOX-compliance environment a plus. Experience with eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) a plus.
