Overview
Personal Financial Counselor, PFC - Atlantic City, NJ at Magellan Federal. This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations, delivering counseling and education to military service members and their families. The program collaborates with installation leadership and branch POCs to ensure services are within scope and meet installation needs. Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families. Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences. Develop and make available informational financial materials. Coordinate, publicize and offer a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops (e.g., topics across the military lifecycle, including arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, and personal and career events per DoDI 1322.34). Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes (web-based, secure online chat, video-based communications) as appropriate and authorized. Manage duty-to-warn situations according to DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues from assigned installations. Participate in regular in-services/training and quality improvement activities as assigned. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. May consider an associate degree with 4 years of experience, or a high school diploma with 6 years of experience, in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. 3+ years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract. Ability to obtain a favorable Tier 2 investigation. Certifications required: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). General Job Information
