Overview
Personal Financial Counselor; New Orleans, LA. This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations, offering education and counseling to service members and their families. Works with installation leadership to ensure the program meets needs within scope. Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families. Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences. Develop and disseminate informational financial materials to service members and families. Coordinate, publicize, and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle (e.g., arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, personal and career events per DoDI 1322.34). Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication (web-based, secure online chat, video-based communications) as appropriate. Manage duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues. Participate in regular in-services, training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. May consider an associate degree plus 4 years’ experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree; high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. 3+ years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizen; fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract. Ability to obtain a favorable Tier 2 investigation. Certification required: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). General Job Information

Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual’s skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position may be eligible for short-term incentives as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
