Avid is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Corporate team. This position will be hybrid - work from home with some in office requirements. This position is available immediately!
The role of the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for a company’s accounts payable procedures, records and statements for compliance with laws and regulations. They will have ownership of day-to-day AP duties, including Vendor management and 1099 reporting. Duties will include assisting with the integration of new locations as needed and audit support.
Responsibilities
Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, payment runs, and reconciliation. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant financial regulations. Review and verify invoices for accuracy and completeness, resolving discrepancies as needed. Assist with integration processes for M&A activity. Prepare and process payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers. Maintain Vendor profiles, W9s, and 1099 processing. Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions and ensure timely filing of documents. Monthly reconciliation of AP related Balance Sheet accounts. Collaborate with internal departments, such as operations, to streamline processes and resolve issues. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis related to accounts payable and costing activities. Participate in month-end closing activities and assist with audits as required. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounts payable function. Assist with all external and internal ad-hoc requests and projects as needed. Adhere to all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as contract requirement, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards. Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, and minimum of three (3) years’ experience.
Travel: Travel may occasionally be required for business purposes. If so, the employee must have a valid driver’s license issued by the state in which they work and a satisfactory driving record.
Skills
Strong knowledge of general accounting procedures. Proficiency in cost accounting with multiple P&L owning divisions. Ability to use computerized systems and software, specifically Microsoft Excel Experience with QuickBooks Desktop, Expensify, and Bill.com or similar platforms. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Satisfactory verbal and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
