This is a full-time position in Manteno, IL that reports to the Controller. As the
Accounting Manager , you will oversee the financial operations at the plant level, focusing on cost management, operational efficiency, and financial analysis related to manufacturing. Your role is crucial in driving plant-level financial performance and ensuring alignment with the overall corporate financial strategy. Key Responsibilities include:
Leading financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes at the plant level. Monitoring plant performance metrics, preparing variance analysis, and recommending improvements. Analyzing production costs, labor efficiency, material usage, and overheads for cost reduction opportunities. Ensuring accurate cost accounting, including product costing, variance reporting, and cost allocation. Collaborating with operations to review bills of materials (BOMs) and standard costs. Driving operational efficiency through cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement projects. Monitoring inventory levels and performing audits for accurate financial reporting. Preparing and presenting financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS standards. Supporting internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with policies and controls. Assisting in Capex evaluations and ROI analysis for plant investments. Leading the plant's annual budgeting and financial forecasting. Ensuring internal controls are in place to safeguard assets and prevent fraud. Partnering with cross-functional teams for strategic financial insights. Providing ad-hoc financial analysis for business issues and strategic projects. Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. 5+ years’ experience in finance, accounting, or cost management, preferably in manufacturing. Strong knowledge of cost accounting, manufacturing processes, and operational metrics. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and internal controls. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Attention to detail, proactive mindset, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
