Accountant – Accounts Payable | Kansas City, MO
LHH is partnering with a client seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to join their onsite team in Kansas City. This full-time role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the full procure-to-pay cycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, invoice processing, and financial reporting, and will serve as a subject matter expert in accounts payable operations.
Responsibilities
Review and assign account coding to supplier contracts, purchase orders, requisitions, and invoices Prepare and post monthly journal entries for A/P accruals and allocations Reconcile accounts payable-related balance sheet accounts Generate and monitor accounts payable aging reports Collaborate with Accounting team to ensure accurate 1099 reporting Partner with Tax Consultant to determine proper tax treatment on supplier invoices Analyze financial statement impacts related to procure-to-pay activities Maintain accounting documentation and enterprise-wide job aids Assist with complex invoice processing and automation initiatives Provide reporting and support for month-end close and special projects Identify and recommend process improvements for efficiency and reporting Collaborate with internal teams including FP&A, Sourcing & Procurement, Legal Operations, and the Controller’s office Perform other duties as assigned Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, OR 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, accounts payable, or procurement Solid understanding of GAAP Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail Ability to interpret and apply vendor contracts and agreements effectively Job Title:
