Position Summary This position is responsible for collecting charged off accounts. The employee will be designated a queue, requiring good negotiation and listening skills. Responsibilities include making decisions regarding repossession and utilizing good judgment to create suitable payment plans with customers. All duties must be performed in accordance with Westlake’s policies, procedures, and compliance. JOB HIGHLIGHTS: This is an in-office position. All candidates should live within commutable distance of our Dallas, TX office. PAY RATE: $20.50 per hour plus bonus potential of up to $6,000 or more monthly based on performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage accounts in assigned queue. Responsible for collecting on their designated queue and assisting peers. Maintain daily and monthly goals. Initiate effective outbound calls and receive inbound calls. Produce and arrange collection solutions for customers. Conduct heavy skip tracing on accounts for potential leads on customers or vehicles. Submit accounts for approval to pursue legal action against accounts that merit it. Refer accounts to collection agencies as needed. Assign accounts for repossession. Provide account updates and new leads on vehicles for repossession. Analyze account history for errors and follow up until remedied. Execute various tasks under the direction of the Supervisor. Multi-task effectively. Goal-oriented for improvement and development. Ensure confidentiality of all aspects of the company’s operations, portfolio, customer information, and technology. Act as a team player. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & LICENSES: Skip tracing background. Excellent communication, negotiation, and writing skills. Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Type a minimum of 35 words per minute. Goal-oriented for improvement and advancement. Ability to work under time constraints and daily deadlines. Extensive knowledge of state and federal laws applicable to collections, including the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School diploma (or equivalent) or higher. Minimum of 2 years work experience in the automotive finance industry. Knowledge of collection, repossession, and skip tracing. Ability to value collateral.
