I-485 Remote Business Immigration Attorney
We are seeking Immigration Attorneys to prepare and file I-485 applications to help clients register for permanent residence or adjustment of status. The role requires a fast-paced, client-focused attorney who can work with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds and handle various employment-based visa types. The successful candidate will be passionate about their work and the positive impact on clients’ success. Although this role is remote, candidates must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, or Wisconsin.
Responsibilities
Diligently prepare cases, legal strategies, and cover letters
Develop an expert-level understanding of client cases, including preparing petitions with in-depth knowledge of the I-485 process for permanent residence or adjustment of status
Manage projects and deadlines, and prepare and revise documents
Explain legal terminology to clients succinctly and promptly
Research unique legal issues by identifying applicable statutes and judicial decisions
Stay up-to-date on legislative changes that may affect immigration
Develop solutions to complex legal questions
Provide training to client companies and individuals on substantive legal topics and updates about new immigration laws and regulations
Collaborate with colleagues to share information, resolve client issues, and support all client projects
Communicate regularly and effectively with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural, case processing issues, and case strategy
Assess the eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status in the U.S.
Prepare petitions and applications for submission to the Department of Labor (DOL) and United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for non-immigrant and immigrant status for foreign national employees
Supervise the work of paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation to ensure accuracy
Qualifications
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited US law school, strong academic background, and admission to a US state bar in good standing
1-2 years of experience with I-485 applications
Bilingual in Mandarin is a plus
High-level organizational skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume law firm
Adaptability and willingness to learn across various practice areas
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills
Ability to work independently on daily tasks with initiative
