Scope Our Portfolio Valuation practice serves hedge funds, private equity funds, direct lending funds, and asset managers. We advise on valuations of illiquid debt, equity, and complex securities to meet investor and regulatory reporting requirements. We offer opportunities to work on varied projects involving valuation of complex businesses, securities, and transaction structures. As an Associate, you will work on engagement teams and perform activities including valuing debt, equity, and structured securities; presenting analyses internally and externally; drafting client deliverables; building and reviewing valuation models; financial statement and industry analyses; attending due diligence meetings; communicating with client personnel; supporting sales and marketing; and directing the work of financial analysts. Responsibilities

Support portfolio valuation teams valuing illiquid debt and equity securities for fair value reporting to investors. Assist in preparing fee proposals, scoping discussions, pitch materials, and pricing memoranda. Participate in deal team discussions, prepare information request lists, and draft client deliverables. Review client materials to understand the company or securities being analyzed. Direct and review the work of financial analysts to ensure accurate, timely deliverables. Compile and review published financial information across industries and sectors. Assist in preparing pitch materials and information request lists for clients. Participate in due diligence meetings, respond to auditor questions regarding valuation analyses. Identify relevant public comps and M&A transactions using S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg, and other methods. Research general economic and industry conditions and investment attributes of securities. Prepare statistical summaries and present analyses in standard formats. Construct and review valuation analyses (guideline company, precedent transactions, DCF) using Houlihan Lokey models. Present valuation analyses to review committees and client senior management. Perform financial statement analysis and other quantitative/qualitative assessments. Support marketing initiatives for prospective and existing clients. Qualifications The environment is collegial and entrepreneurial. Bachelor’s degree (Finance a plus) Minimum of 3-5+ years of valuation experience Strong analytical abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications

Strong understanding of financial statements analysis with key assumptions and limitations. Fundamental understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies, and applications Strong knowledge of Excel modeling Ability to work cooperatively with team members and independently in a fast-paced environment Excellent work ethic Experience at Big Four or Independent Valuation Advisory firm a plus Compensation And Benefits Houlihan Lokey offers a competitive total compensation package, which may include discretionary incentive compensation. The firm’s salary range at posting is: $100,000.00-$160,000.00; actual salary may vary by qualifications, skills, experience, service line, and location.
