The Wilder Lab in the Department of Biology at Oklahoma State University is seeking a highly motivated MS or PhD student to join a funded research project on the nutritional ecology of sexual cannibalism in spiders. The position includes teaching responsibilities and participation in a fully funded Master’s program through UNC. Fellows earn a Master of Arts Degree in Science Education from UNC upon successful completion of required coursework. Responsibilities Conduct field collection of spiders and laboratory experiments related to nutritional ecology and reproduction. Design and implement nutrient manipulation experiments to assess offspring outcomes. Engage in reflective teaching practices, curriculum development, and dissemination of findings. Participate in program logistics, teaching, and graduate coursework credits toward a Master’s degree. Collaborate with a team including mentors in the Wilder Lab and UNC instructors. Program Structure Full-time fellowship for 2 years 3 months, with enrolled graduate studies at Walking Mountains and UNC online/in-person courses. Teaching and field experiences aligned with natural science education. Fellowship includes tuition for 30 graduate credits, housing support, and stipend. Responsibilities and Qualifications (condensed) Qualifications: BA/BS in science, education, or related field; teaching experience preferred; willingness to complete wilderness first aid and CPR; 3.0 GPA (UNC requirement); Spanish is a plus; strong writing and communication skills. Experience with arthropods and field/lab work is desired; ability to work in Stillwater, OK; flexible start dates; evidence of leadership and collaboration.
