Reporting to the Vice President, General Counsel (Corporate), provide primary legal support for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating system contracts with managed care organizations (MCOs) and pharmaceutical-related entities, including 340B programs, for Froedtert ThedaCare Health, Inc. (FTCH). Serve as the legal business partner for internal contract stakeholders and organizational leaders in support of MCOs and pharmacy business. Responsible for dispute resolution, litigation, and arbitrations, and ensure compliance with managed care and pharmaceutical regulations, including 340B, STARK, and anti-kickback statutes. Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with MCOs and pharmaceutical entities; oversee key transactions as assigned. Provide legal guidance, risk management counseling, and retain/manage outside counsel within defined budgets. Lead and develop the FTCH Office of General Counsel contracting team; mentor staff and ensure high-quality contracting services. Manage dispute resolution, including litigation and arbitration related to the contracting function. Experience
5-8 years of relevant contracting experience in a hospital/health system, healthcare setting, or law firm specializing in managed care, pharmaceutical business, including 340B and PBM programs. Experience negotiating terms with MCOs on reimbursement, utilization management, prior authorization, network participation, and denials resolution. Education
Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school required. Regulatory Knowledge
Deep understanding of federal and state laws governing managed care, including ERISA, HIPAA, and Wisconsin-specific regulations. Special Skills
Leadership, communication, and management skills; strong project management; excellent legal research and writing; attention to detail; ability to work independently and in a team; proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office. Licensure
Licensed to practice law as in-house counsel and in good standing in Wisconsin or eligible to seek admission upon hire. Perks & Benefits
