Overview

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Housing Counselor, located in Woodstock, IL. The Housing Counselor will be responsible for providing one on one counseling sessions to clients, conducting client intake and assessment, and developing personalized action plans. Day-to-day tasks include assisting clients with housing-related issues such as rental, mortgage, and foreclosure counseling. The Housing Counselor will also be responsible for maintaining accurate client records, preparing reports, and collaborating with other agencies and community organizations. Provide one-on-one housing counseling sessions to clients. Conduct client intake and assessment, and develop personalized action plans. Assist clients with housing-related issues such as rental, mortgage, and foreclosure counseling. Maintain accurate client records and prepare reports. Collaborate with other agencies and community organizations to support clients. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, finance, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience). Some knowledge of credit, budgeting, debt management, and housing programs preferred. Experience working with low- to moderate-income individuals and diverse populations. Strong interviewing, active listening, and motivational counseling skills. Ability to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HUD and agency ethical standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with data entry in client management systems. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients, track follow-ups, and meet monthly/quarterly reporting deadlines. Commitment to the mission of strengthening and empowering communities through counseling and education in housing and personal finance. Flexibility to conduct counseling sessions in person, by phone, or via virtual platforms such as Zoom. Details
