Senior Payroll Specialist
to oversee all facets of payroll operations. In this role, you will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing, manage complex benefit submissions, and handle critical reporting functions. Bronx, NY Key Responsibilities
Process weekly payroll for all affiliated entities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as company policies. Manage timekeeping for employees using UKG/Kronos and HHA Exchange, reviewing and approving attendance data for accurate payroll processing. Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and resolve any discrepancies promptly. Reconcile payroll data with HR/HRIS updates for new hires, separations, and position changes. Maintain and update employee deductions, direct deposits, tax withholdings, and garnishments based on official documentation. Generate detailed payroll reports to support the finance department’s monthly financial close process. Administer weekly retirement benefit funding and manage annual Safe Harbor contributions. Prepare and submit union benefit reports and payments for multiple bargaining units, including 1199 RN, 1199 LPN, 1199/114 Services & Maintenance, and 1199 Homecare Division. Process check requests for specific benefits such as FSA contributions, WageWorks commuter benefits, and 1199 Home Mortgage payments. Ensure all payroll records are stored securely and in compliance with internal protocols. Support the Payroll Director with various ad-hoc projects and assignments. Qualifications
An Associate’s degree is required. A minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, with a background in a lead or supervisory role preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of payroll practices, laws, and compliance standards. Experience with ADP Enterprise Version 6 or ADP Workforce Now is a plus. Proficiency with time and attendance systems like Kronos or UKG is required. Advanced Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Representative Details
