Overview

Senior Payroll Specialist - Immediate Opportunity, Riverdale, New York. RiverSpring Living is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. The RiverSpring Living campus is set on 32 acres overlooking the Hudson River, in Riverdale, New York. RiverSpring Living provides a full range of care solutions including nursing home care, managed long term care, assisted living programs, senior housing, rehabilitation services and specialized services such as elder abuse prevention and memory care. Reporting to the Director of Payroll, the Senior Payroll Specialist will manage and process payroll for all affiliated organizations, ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations in full compliance with company policies, union regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all companies to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Oversee Timekeepers in UKG/Kronos and HHA Exchange to ensure time and attendance records are reviewed, approved, and processed correctly. Provide coverage and assistance to other Payroll team members and support the Director of Payroll as needed. Process weekly payrolls for all affiliated entities in compliance with Federal, State, Local laws and company policies. Respond promptly to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies timely. Reconcile payroll data to reflect HR/HRIS changes (new hires, terminations, position changes). Maintain and update deductions, direct deposits, taxes, and garnishments upon receipt of documentation. Provide payroll reports to the Finance Department to assist with monthly close. Reconcile and process weekly retirement benefit funding and annual Safe Harbor contributions. Process monthly union benefit reports and payments for bargaining units (e.g., 1199 RN, 1199 LPN, 1199/114 Services and Maintenance, 1199 Homecare). Process check requests for benefits such as FSA contributions, 1199 Home Mortgage payments, and WageWorks commuter benefits. Maintain confidential payroll records and department files in accordance with internal policies. Support the Payroll Director with special projects and assignments as needed.

Specialized Skills and Technical Competencies

Maintain strict confidentiality in all payroll and employee matters. Proficient in applying payroll principles, regulations, and internal policies. Effective communication with employees, department heads, and external vendors. Strong multi-tasking and prioritization abilities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and hands-on experience with ADP Enterprise V6, Kronos/UKG, and HHA Exchange. Familiarity with union contracts and bargaining agreement terms related to payroll processing.

Qualifications

Associate degree required. Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a supervisory or lead role. Extensive knowledge of payroll principles, practices, laws, and regulations. Proficiency in ADP Enterprise V6 or ADP Workforce Now preferred. Experience with Kronos or UKG Time and Attendance systems required. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior management and cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Compensation

$70,000 – $80,000 annually Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
