Responsibilities
Makes individual and group presentations to potential clients
Interviews potential expert witnesses
Meet with clients to review case strategy
Prepare pleadings, motions and briefs, and legal research for complex matters in Superior and appellate courts
Argue motions in Superior Court and oral arguments in appellate courts
Meet with clients and expert witnesses on site at impacted properties to investigate impacts and formulate strategy
Meet with opposing counsel and with opposing party experts
Communicate with opposing counsel to negotiate issues, including settlement and pre-mediation disclosures
Prepare for and attend mediations with client and opposing parties, negotiate settlements
Prepare and review settlement documents
Conduct depositions and prepare clients and experts for examinations
Propound and respond to written discovery
Prepare for jury trials and trial-related activities including jury selection and witness preparation
Trial preparation includes analysis of factual and legal issues, selection of witnesses and exhibits
Prepare for and participate in pretrial conferences with the judge and opposing counsel
Openings and closings for trials and post-trial considerations
Coordinate with retained experts and clients to finalize testimony
