Meagher Injury Lawyers
Overview
Are you an attorney or recent law school graduate who is scheduled to take the Kentucky bar exam and is ready to be challenged on a daily basis? Do you want litigation experience right away? Do you want to be rewarded for bringing in clients and handling cases to resolution? Meagher Injury Lawyers is looking for an associate attorney to work in its Louisville office. Some work can also be performed remotely. If you want to be part of a team helping everyday people, not just some attorney going through the motions, this is for you. We practice contingent fee personal injury work and promote mental wellness, with expectations of hard work but not long hours on a regular basis. If you think you have what it takes, apply to do something great. Compensation:
$40,000 base salary plus commission on every case, with good potential for six-figure annual compensation. Responsibilities
Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action. Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys. Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff. Motion practice for all litigation files, including drafting and arguing most motions on the record. Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings. Draft and edit legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements. Collaborate with clients and staff to move cases to resolution efficiently. Negotiate cases with authority from clients, with defense attorneys, and insurance companies. Manage the day-to-day handling of all phases of smaller pre-litigation files. When needed, serve as first-chair in jury trials for smaller cases and second-chair for larger cases. Appellate practice when needed. Deposition practice on all files. Written discovery practice on all files. Trial strategy and case development with lead attorney. Qualifications
Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA). Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school; candidates must have passed the Kentucky bar exam or be taking it this summer. Solid communication and problem-solving skills to work with clients, staff, and senior attorneys. Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet client needs and grow the client base. Additional Information
Compensation listed as $40,000 base salary plus commission. Optional marketing activities include networking lunches, social media posts about the firm, blog writing, and online videos.
