Overview

We are a highly respected plaintiff‑side personal injury and medical malpractice firm in downtown Chicago. We handle catastrophic injury, birth injury, negligent care, wrongful death, and related claims. As we continue to grow and take on high‑stakes medical malpractice cases, we are seeking a skilled paralegal, preferably someone with real experience in medical negligence litigation to join our litigation team. Key Responsibilities

Manage medical‑record procurement, organization, review, and summarization Assist attorneys in drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, deposition notices, and expert disclosures Coordinate with medical experts, vendors, and consultants (scheduling, document exchange, invoice handling) Prepare exhibit and trial binders, demonstratives, medical timelines, chronologies Support trial preparation (jury instructions, trial notebooks, witness lists, evidence logs) Track deadlines, statute of limitations, case milestones, and calendaring Maintain communication with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties Conduct legal research where needed and assist attorneys with case strategy Mentor junior staff (if applicable) and help improve internal systems and workflows Required / Preferred Qualifications

At least 2‑5 years of experience in medical malpractice litigation or health‑care negligence (or comparable high‑stakes tort litigation) Strong familiarity with medical terminology, hospital records, diagnostic tests, and healthcare provider billing Proven track record in managing complex litigation files from intake through trial Skilled in drafting legal documents, discovery, coordinating experts, and trial support Proficiency with litigation software (e.g. Relativity, Concordance, Lexis, Westlaw, case management systems) Team player, but able to work independently and prioritize Bachelor\'s degree or paralegal certification is preferred All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
