Overview
Human Resources Business Partner (West Region) - Hybrid Opportunity. This is a hybrid position based at our corporate office in Brentwood, TN, with on-site work required Monday through Wednesday. We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our West Region. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing hands-on HR support and strategic guidance. The HRBP will partner with leadership to drive initiatives that strengthen culture, enhance engagement, ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws (with a focus on California), and support Surgery Partners’ mission to deliver exceptional care through our Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs). Responsibilities
Partner with HR leadership, COEs, and operations to implement HR policies, programs, and standards. Provide guidance and coaching to leaders on employee relations, performance, engagement, and strategic people decisions. Lead deployment of HR processes including performance reviews, merit cycles, benefits enrollment, and incentive programs. Support action planning for engagement, onboarding, and exit surveys. Collaborate with COEs to execute initiatives locally with clear communication and consistency. Provide HR support in workforce planning, data analysis, and organizational change management. Maintain knowledge of federal and state employment laws; ensure compliance and mitigate risk. Partner on due diligence and integration activities for new acquisitions. Analyze HR metrics (turnover, retention, engagement, etc.) and recommend solutions for continuous improvement. Actively build strong relationships with leaders and employees to foster a positive and productive work environment. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; or equivalent education, training, and experience. Experience: Minimum 3+ years of HR experience with proven success in employee relations, strategic consultation with management, and driving people initiatives that support business goals. Healthcare experience and experience in a shared services/COE model are pluses. California employment law experience strongly preferred. Certifications: PHR or SHRM-CP required (or obtained within one year of hire). California employment law certification strongly preferred at hire; required within one year if not already obtained. Travel: Up to 30% within the West Region as needed. Skills & Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (UltiPro preferred). Analytical ability to interpret HR data and apply insights. Ability to influence, challenge the status quo, and provide sound recommendations.
