Job Summary As Senior Sous Chef, you will support the Culinary Department on a 100% vegetarian campus with an all-you-care-to-eat cafe, fast casual cafe with c-store, two retail locations, a weekly food truck, and internal/external catering. You\'ll oversee food preparation, menu development, and presentation while supervising hourly associates. In partnership with the Executive Chef, you\'ll help manage ordering, cost controls, and new menu creation, ensuring high-quality operations that adapt to the needs of the business and events.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and monitoring account expenditures
Support menu planning and creation in collaboration with the Executive Chef
Produce and execute internal and external catering events
Implement new culinary programs in partnership with Company marketing and the culinary team
Preferred Qualifications
A.O.S. Degree in Culinary Arts or a culinary certificate with required experience
Progressive culinary or kitchen management experience, depending on degree or training
Catering experience strongly preferred
Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations highly desirable
Institutional and batch cooking experience helpful
Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with emphasis on quality, production, sanitation, food cost control, and presentation
Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and internet use
Willingness to participate in guest satisfaction programs and activities
ServSafe certification highly desirable
