Custom manufacturing company located in New Castle, DE, is seeking a well-rounded Lead Fabricator to head up our CNC Department. Candidate will be responsible for writing G & M code, programming & operating CNC Vertical Mills (Haas VF-10, VF-4, VF-3 & Fadal) and fabrication of steel, aluminum and wood products. Program and operate CNC vertical mills to fabricate parts according to specifications. Utilize CAD software to create detailed drawings and models for production. Inspect and measure finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards. Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize designs for manufacturability. Maintain and troubleshoot CNC equipment to ensure efficient operation. Document and report on production processes and outcomes. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow efficiency. Requirements
Proven experience as a CNC programmer with vertical mill expertise. Strong proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD. Understanding of G-code programming and CNC machine operations. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Duties and Responsibilities
CNC programming, set up & operation of CNC Vertical Mills for standard & custom parts Set-up and break-down of machining centers as well as scheduling PM and cleaning Knowledge of trouble shooting machines Create schedules for machining centers based on production schedule Train and oversee machine operators Must be familiar with steel and aluminum Work on other shop equipment such as manual mills, press-brake, saws, lathe, drills, etc. Draw, read and interpret prints, plans, sketches, and shop drawings. Work with designers and management to achieve customers' satisfaction. Maintain a high level of production while maintaining quality Responding to quick turnaround orders; Some overtime required Performing well in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment Maintain clean equipment and work area Forklift certified preferred Perform related duties, as assigned Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Trade school graduate, or equivalent. 5+ years of programming experience with CNC Vertical Machining Centers Knowledge of Auto CAD and/or Solidworks Knowledge of wood & Plexiglas a plus Strong knowledge of shop practices and skill in using shop tools and equipment. Ability to ACCURATELY read tape measure & blueprints and translate into fabricated products using fractions & decimal places Experience with Laminates and veneers a plus Must have reliable transportation Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform related duties, as described Additional Information
