Enterprise Safety Program Manager (1099935) – Permanent Full Time Direct Hire Position in Sacramento, CA. Salary: $92,000.00 USD Annually – $118,000.00 USD Annually. General Description
Direct and manage the corporate safety program in support of safety activities necessary to protect the employees and assets of the credit union. Communicates and interacts with members, law enforcement, community officials and branch/department personnel to provide assistance ensuring compliance to regulations, standards and procedures. Responsibilities
Develop and facilitate ongoing safety and de-escalation training and education for all employees of the credit union. Administer, manage, and maintain the physical and psychological safety program; administer corporate safety policies and procedures including employee and member safety issues. Provide training and awareness for branch and headquarters personnel regarding proper procedures relevant to de-escalation, including travel to branches statewide for such training. Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance applicable to the position. Foster a positive and engaging work environment with safety as a top priority; promote skill development, coaching, and growth; inspire others and ensure positive employee morale. Review, analyze, and take appropriate action on all procedural recommendations for safety, efficiency, and soundness. Identify, investigate, and respond to member issues and concerns. Review, recommend, and negotiate vendor contracts. Assess branch and Operations center adherence to corporate safety programs and procedures; assist all areas in attaining goals; travel to proposed branch locations to conduct preliminary safety assessments to aid site selection. Manage safety-related vendors including selection, contract negotiation, placement, and billing reconciliation. Provide additional safety training and awareness for branch sites including site safety inspections. Serve as leader of Safety Team and evaluate service providers in accordance with corporate policy and safety needs. Conduct interviews and investigations relevant to safety issues; engage with community organizations to partner in providing a safe environment. Lead or participate in cross-functional, enterprise-wide projects that impact the safety posture of the Credit Union. Physical Skills, Abilities, and Exertion
Effective oral and written communication to interpret, resolve, and document safety issues and to train and evaluate Safety Officers. Ability to operate standard office equipment and software. Ability to manage stressful situations and respond quickly to security emergencies. Organizational Contacts & Relationships
Internal: All levels of staff. External: Vendors, suppliers, members, local law enforcement and government agencies. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, criminal justice or related field, or equivalent work experience. Experience: Seven years or more overseeing a safety program with emphasis on mental health and de-escalation techniques in a financial institution; knowledge of institution operations, policies, and procedures. Security experience preferred (Physical/Corporate Security, Safety, or related). Knowledge/Skills: Strong oral and written communication, leadership, familiarity with databases and software, and ability to lead cross-functional, enterprise-wide projects. Certifications: CPP or CFE preferred. Must have a valid California driver’s license. Physical Requirements
Prolonged sitting with occasional mobility; normal vision and hearing (assistive device available if needed). Occasional movements to interact with staff; occasional long hours and possible shift changes to cover needs. Licenses / Certifications
Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) preferred. Possession of a valid California driver’s license is required. Contact:
