Sub-Zero Group, Inc. Our co-op program offers students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience by working on real-world projects. Partnering with industry professionals, participants will contribute to the development and enhancement of Sub-Zero Group's products while gaining practical experience to complement their studies. Co-op assignments are typically 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday for 8 months.
Spring (January 2026 - September 2026) & Fall (May 2026 - January 2027) Co-ops. Responsibilities
Design Engineering: Work closely with Engineers, Drafters, and Technicians to design, develop, test, and document new designs as well as enhancements to Sub-Zero Inc. products. Create a concept, prototype it, build it to test, and then redesign the product to make any necessary corrections. Operations & Production Engineering: Be part of a fast-paced production team and collaborate with engineers from reliability, test, quality, and manufacturing to keep operations running safely, smoothly, and efficiently. Reliability Engineering: Support development and testing of Sub-Zero Group, Inc. products by creating test plans, building fixtures, documenting procedures, conducting product teardowns, root-cause analyses, and design reviews; analyze sensor and warranty data to identify trends and prepare reports using statistical tools. Azure IoT Engineering: Work with mobile and embedded software teams to develop Cloud IoT solutions, including backend software development, software design, automated testing development, defect investigation, and participation in Agile ceremonies. IoT Test & Validation: Develop and execute software testing of the Sub-Zero IoT ecosystem, including automated test development, executing test plans, generating test reports, and basic wiring, soldering and assembly of test equipment. IT Data & Analytics: Gain experience with data platforms, data engineering, analytics, and reporting tools; implement and support products including data modeling and transformation, dashboards, and Agile Scrum processes. Integrated Systems Engineering: Design and implement automated test systems for quality and performance verification, provide test engineering support for manufacturing, and develop/maintain test equipment; provide troubleshooting and training as needed. Embedded Test & Validation: Develop and execute testing of Sub-Zero appliance firmware, including automated and manual testing, troubleshooting, and test rig development. Business Relationship Manager (BRM): Support development and management of strategic relationships between business units and IT; help translate business needs into actionable initiatives and contribute to stakeholder engagement. Manufacturing Engineering – Fabrication: Support manufacturing operations with focus on Fabrication and New Product Development; analyze processes, design fixtures, gain experience with SolidWorks, and support prototype builds and design iterations. IT Web Development QA: Contribute to manual and automated testing, improve platform observability and performance, and support the software release cycle in an Agile environment. IT CRM: Support Microsoft Dynamics 365 and related applications, assist with configuration and optimization, and engage in QA processes including manual and automated testing within an Agile environment. IT Innovation & Enablement: Explore emerging technologies, develop automation tools, and implement innovative solutions to enhance IT processes. IT Helpdesk: Provide desktop support, handle tickets, remote assistance, imaging of new computers, setup of workstations, and ongoing support for IT initiatives. Notes
