Job Summary The Quality System Engineer (QSE) plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of all vehicles produced at the manufacturing plant. This position develops, implements, and maintains robust quality operating systems to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. The QSE sets expectations and receives alignment across all plants, collaborating with cross-functional teams and leads continuous improvement in processes, products and overall quality performance.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the site Quality Manager and Quality Director to develop, train, implement and sustain global quality systems for their location.

Champion of quality on corrective action/preventative action (CAPA) process, document management and control, control plans (CP), Quality Management System (QMS) internal audit program within site Quality Monthly Operating Review (QMOR) requirements.

Define and continually improve main quality processes as the standard, identifying all process related with maintaining existing and new platform/product introduction phases.

Provide support to Supplier Quality to improve process for incoming materials quality at point of consumption.

Support CAPA system maturity for site (leadership, training, support, reporting).

Support the Quality Manager with weekly/monthly data reporting tasks and follow up tasks.

Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Reliance data management modules. Support/own Reliance tool migration, upgrades and implementations.

Support the Quality Manager and Production Director with rolling first pass yield (RFPY) and clean build data. Champion visibility and continuous projects to improve.

Own management and organization of control plans for critical manufacturing processes as defined by NPI and global quality team, as well as by site needs.

Provide SME guidance to Manufacturing and Quality Engineers on PFMEA and process control plan (CP) development implementation and continuous improvement.

Own/coordinate the QMS internal audit program for site. Closely partner with central quality resources on continuous improvement.

Define QMS internal audit scope, frequency and focus areas based on global and site needs.

Provide leadership feedback on internal audit findings and drive accountability to completion.

Lead record retention management on QMS audit findings and assign out corrective action plan for minor/major non-conformances.

Support the implementation of standard work methodology across all sites.

Lead investigations into quality issues, defects, and non-conformities. Perform root cause analysis to determine the underlying reasons for issues and implement corrective actions.

Represent Quality by supporting all training dojo initiatives and curriculum updates.

Drive transformational change to culture and foster a Safety-Quality-Delivery-Cost mindset.

Experience & Skills

Experience in a Quality Systems role. Automotive, powersports or related industry background with previous high volume production work experience preferred.

Strong knowledge in external quality processes/standards (ISO 9001:2008; TS 16949:2009).

Versed in problem solving, root cause analysis, corrective & preventative actions.

Strong knowledge and deep experience with control plan (CP) and FMEA tools/methods.

Experience as an internal process auditor. Certified Lead Auditor preferred, or ready to be certified within first 6 months in the job.

APQP, PPAP, statistical process control (SPC), GD&T and lean manufacturing knowledge.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational and analytical skills.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.

Compensation & Benefits The starting pay range for Minnesota is $72,000 to $95,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
