Summary:
The Senior Engineer, Mechatronics Systems will lead and support advanced R&D initiatives focused on the integration of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems within automotive platforms. This role is pivotal in bridging hardware and software domains, enabling robust system-level performance through multi-physics modeling, signal analysis, and advanced communication protocols. The Senior Engineer will collaborate across disciplines to drive innovation in vehicle architecture, embedded systems, and intelligent control strategies, contributing to the development of next-generation mobility solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (EE HW/SW, controls, mechanics) to improve system performance and integration. Derive and cascade system-level requirements to hardware, software, sensors, and actuators. Act as a technical interface across domains, including multi-physics systems modeling and simulation. Lead the design and validation of mechatronic systems, ensuring compliance with automotive standards and customer requirements. Develop and configure communication systems, especially Automotive Ethernet, including TSN and virtual channel setup. Conduct signal analysis (DSP), including high-frequency EMC considerations. Support the development of prototypes and proof-of-concept systems using CAD tools and embedded software platforms. Document and present technical advances, project milestones, and research findings to internal and external stakeholders. Stay current with emerging technologies in AI, ML, automotive electronics, and advanced manufacturing. Education
Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field is required. PhD or additional certifications in automotive systems, embedded software, or communications engineering is considered an asset. Experience
5+ years of demonstrable experience in automotive R&D, systems engineering, or product development. Proven expertise in automotive systems design, including embedded controls, ECUs, sensors, actuators, and diagnostics. Experience with the V-model development cycle and Agile methodologies. Familiarity with ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), cybersecurity standards, and automotive quality/reliability protocols. Hands-on experience with ECAD tools, mechatronic CAD systems, and prototype hardware development. Prior work involving domain/zonal architecture integration and central EEA systems is highly desirable. Required Skills
Strong craftsmanship and technical creativity. Logical and analytical thinking with solid mathematical foundations. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, and RUST. Working-level understanding of AI and ML applications in automotive systems. Deep knowledge of communication systems, especially Automotive Ethernet, TSN, and virtual channel configuration. Experience with signal processing and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence without authority and collaborate effectively across teams. Health & Safety
