Project Engineer - Entry Level (Day or Swing Shift) – Layton, Utah
Janicki Industries is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer to join our Layton, Utah on-site team. This role supports a private, family-owned aerospace and space exploration-focused company with a facility in Layton. The position offers an on-site work environment with an off-shift differential of $12,000 annually for the swing shift. Responsibilities
Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in project development of manufacturing plans, schedules, and quality plans Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports Review customers" purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure the necessary criteria and provisions are met Complete inspection plans in conjunction with project planning and in coordination with project management Verify compliance to codes, standards and customer contracts Perform in-process and final inspections on customer-ordered projects as necessary Organize and monitor corrective actions; assist to evaluate and determine root cause and corrective action plans Comply with safety, 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap standards and practices Develop detailed production build plan packages based on customer process specifications and engineering drawings Maintain awareness of the project schedule as it moves through the value stream to meet key deadlines Facilitate communication with Program Management, Operations, QA and HR Assist Project Managers in the execution of a project plan, including development of work orders, materials procurement and organization, schedules and budgets, and other project activities Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors; work well under pressure and meet multiple deadlines Qualifications
Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3). Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is required Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency with Microsoft Office Proficiency in technical writing through experience producing testing plans, final reports, process instructions, or related activities Experience with CATIA and NX CAD software is a plus Strong focus, self-motivation, initiative Exceptional communication and presentation skills in written, verbal, and graphical forms Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks Interest in problem solving and process improvement Demonstrated attention to detail Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $80,000 – $90,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits Off-shift pay available Health, dental, and vision insurance with employer contribution Disability and Life/AD&D insurance HSA with employer contribution and FSA 401(k) with employer matching Paid time off and holidays (including two floating holidays) Education reimbursement program Multiple shift options Additional pay for off-shifts About the Company
