Overview
Project Engineer - Program Management role at Janicki. This position is located on-site in Layton, Utah. Janicki Industries is a private, family-owned business based in Washington State with a Layton, Utah facility. We work on complex aerospace and space exploration parts and assemblies for carbon fiber composites and aluminum. We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our growing team. You will execute highly complex projects from cradle to grave, developing, managing, and coordinating aerospace projects in an external-facing role. You will be part of a value-stream team, collaborating with Operations and technical experts to solve our Customer’s most challenging projects. Our teams are encouraged to be creative and develop unique solutions that drive new processes and capabilities across the company. Responsibilities
Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in the development of manufacturing plans, schedules, and quality plans. Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports. Review customer purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure the necessary criteria and provisions are met. Complete Inspection Plans in conjunction with Project Planning and in coordination with Project Management. Verify compliance to codes, standards and customer contracts. Perform in-process and final inspections on customer-ordered projects as necessary. Organize and monitor Corrective Actions; assist to evaluate and determine root cause and corrective action plans. Comply with Safety, 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap Standards and Practices. Develop detailed Production Build Plan packages based on customer process specifications and engineering drawings. Maintain awareness of the project schedule to meet key deadlines as projects move through the value stream. Facilitate communication with Program Management, Operations, QA and HR. Assist in executing project plans, including development of Work Orders, materials procurement, schedules and budgets, and related activities. Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure, meet multiple deadlines, and collaborate with colleagues and supervisors. Project Management
Develop and execute high-level and detailed project plans, including schedules and budgets. Work directly with customers to determine requirements and deliverables; communicate project status to customers. Engage customers and internal teams to ensure progress through all project stages. Coordinate design and manufacturing support activities; participate in production oversight with project engineers. Ensure all quality requirements for projects are understood and met; enforce 5S and AS9100 standards across work performed. Develop and maintain positive strategic relationships with customers to sustain ongoing work and identify new opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned. Demonstrate ability to work under pressure with cooperative behavior and good attendance. Qualifications
Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or have Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a)(3). Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field required. 4+ years of experience. Demonstrated leadership capabilities; ability to lead a team of engineers on complex manufacturing objectives. Experience with CATIA and NX or equivalent CAD software is a plus. Proficiency with SAP ERP software is preferred. Experience with complex machining in a manufacturing environment or aerospace projects is preferred. Strong verbal and written English communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office. Focus, self-motivation, and initiative; strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and activities. Additional Information
Salary range: $80,000 - $145,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation and health benefits. Additional pay for off-shifts may be available. Base compensation offered will be based on experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities. Benefits
